The first edition of ‘Afternoon with an Author,’ 2024 brings us Indian author and retired Indian Administrative Service officer of Uttar Pradesh Cadre and 1981 batch Anil Swarup.
The book in discussion will be his forthcoming book ‘Encounters with Politicians’ by Unique Publications. In the 304 pages the author discusses his riveting life journey as a civil servant. With close to four decades of varied experience, the author shares candid thoughts, anecdotes, incidents from interactions with political big-wigs. He talks about his stint with the likes of Chief Minister Kalyan Singh and Mayawati. Swarup has served in various capacities including the Coal Secretary to the Government of India where he had the good fortune of working closely with Prime Minister Modi.
Encounters with Politicians is an exploration of the human side of politics. It is here where personalities and principles collide while shaping the destiny of a nation.
