ABOUT THE EVENT
The November Edition of Afternoon with an Author will bring in grit and valour as we discuss VoW Winner 2019, an IAF veteran with 36 years of experience in aviation and aviation management Air Cmde Nitin Sathe’s book 1971.1999. War Stories. The latest from the pen of Nitin Sathe. 1971.1999. War Stories documents the ‘oral history’ of our war veterans. Put together from personal interviews and anecdotes the stories highlight qualities such as leadership, motivation, management and the resilience of our men in uniform. Unfiltered and unbiased, these personal war accounts come straight from the soldiers who were part of these conflicts.
Air Cmde Nitin Sathe will be in conversation with multi-talented Ira Chauhan. An alumnus of Miranda House College, an Odissi dancer, a disciple of Padma Shri Mayadhar Raut. She is an activist, a trustee of Citizens For Green Doon, a Mindfulness practitioner and a moderator at literature festivals. She has interviewed authors and celebrities ; the likes of Namita Gokhale, Shobha De and Dadi Pudumjee to name a few.
Ira has contributed to dailies as a columnist, mainly covering cultural and social events and personality profiles and interviews.
The session will be moderated by Sanjeev Chopra, Festival Director of Valley of Words.
