The October Edition of Afternoon with an Author will discuss the book ‘Women of Influence’ by Rajni Sekhri Sibal. The work is a compilation of untold stories of ten IAS women officers who have made a difference. With thirty-seven years of civil service behind her, Rajni Sekhri Sibal has had the unique opportunity to observe things closely. Her narratives provide an insight into the challenges of being a woman IAS officer on duty. The book is seen as a valuable contribution of snippets and anecdotes inspired from real-life incidents penned by the protagonist which makes for a must-read.

Rajni Sekhri Sibal will be in conversation with Durga Shakti Nagpal. Durga Shakti Nagpal is a celebrated IAS officer belonging to the Uttar Pradesh cadre. She is known for spearheading the largest crackdown against the notorious sand mafia of the Noida region, an industry worth ₹22,000 crore yearly. She is also the youngest person to be awarded the ‘Woman of The Year’ award by the Economic Times.

The session will be moderated by Sanjeev Chopra, Festival Director of Valley of Words.
